The Galaxy S22, Galaxy S22 Plus Are Also the First Smartphones From Samsung to Be Made Using Recycled Fishing Nets

Samsung has gone for a more sustainable approach by mass producing the Galaxy S22 and Galaxy S22 Plus with recycled finishing nets. Both smartphones’ boxes are also made up of fully recycled materials with minimal plastic use, according to the company. If you wanted to see bigger displays, you are not going to get that because Samsung has shrunk the screen sizes. Galaxy S22 features a 6.1-inch panel compared to last year’s 6.2-inch display on the Galaxy S21. However, you do get slimmer bezels, making it ideal for customers who prefer a more compact form factor. The Galaxy S22 Plus gets a 6.6-inch screen, whereas the Galaxy S21 Plus shipped with a 6.7-inch one. This reduction also results in both models getting smaller batteries, with the base version sporting a 3700mAh cell, while the larger one is incorporated with a 4500mAh capacity. Depending on which region you live in, you will either get the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 or Exynos 2200 variant. As most of you know, Qualcomm’s flagship chipset will exclusively be available in the U.S. Storage options include 128GB and 256GB models, and before you ask, none of these come with microSD card expansion. RAM is limited to 8GB, irrespective of which model you purchase. Coming to the optics, Samsung has introduced its 50MP primary camera to both models, and it is backed by a 12MP ultrawide sensor, along with a 10MP telephoto unit and a 10MP selfie shooter. The Galaxy S22 can charge at 25W, while the Galaxy S22 Plus can top its battery faster with 45W charge support. The smaller smartphone also lacks UWB and Wi-Fi 6E, likely to reduce manufacturing costs and reach a low starting price.
