The new update for Forbidden West is available now and offers tons of fixes and improvements in addition to a new ‘Always Off’ option for ammo and weapons alongside improved image quality and new photo mode options. “We’ve made several tweaks to vegetation to improve image quality in the Favor Performance mode and will continue to investigate reported graphical issues regarding shimmering, sharpening, and screen saturation”, the developer writes on Twitter....

Vulkan 1.3.226 introduces new Mesh Shader support & is published in the latest Radeon Vulkan Driver “RADV” for the upcoming Mesa 22.3 Vulkan’s newest VK_EXT_mesh_shader is a cross-vendor mesh shading extension replacing the current NVIDIA vendor-centric extension. The graphics extension allows applications to create gathered sections of “geometric primitives” through program-controlled mesh shading. Vulkan’s mesh shaders are an alternative to the shading pipeline as a programmable primitive. During the initial launch, NVIDIA published a new Vulkan beta driver for Windows and Linux that included the EXT_mesh_shader support....

According to Nintendo Life, Nintendo’s end-of-year financial results have confirmed that MercurySteam’s 2D entry is now the best-selling Metroid game ever. According to its life-to-date sales data, the game has sold 2.9 million units. This marks a lead of ~60,000 copies ahead of the previous holder of the best-seller title: Metroid Prime....

Steam’s own Twitter account seems to confirm that Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 is indeed returning to Valve’s PC platform. Rumors about Nintendo expanding its Switch Online library popped up earlier this week, and the company has now confirmed the arrival of two new NES titles and one new SNES game. Available as of today for Switch Online subscribers are action puzzle arcade title Dig Dug II for the NES, 1983’s Mappy-Land, and 1995’s Earthworm Jim 2 for the SNES. Not quite the announcement that we would have hoped for, but Earthworm Jim 2 is a nice addition to the Switch Online library....
